Step 1: Pray the Signum Crucis on the Crucifix.

Step 2: Pray Oratio Incipiens on first bead.

Step 3: Pray Pater Noster on second bead, Ave Maria on third bead, and Symbolum Apostolorum on fourth bead.

Step 4: Begin first decade with Pater Aeterne and pray ten Pro Dolorosas.

Step 5: Begin second decade with Pater Aeterne and pray ten Pro Dolorosas.

Step 6: Begin third decade with Pater Aeterne and pray ten Pro Dolorosas.

Step 7: Begin fourth decade with Pater Aeterne and pray ten Pro Dolorosas.

Step 8: Begin fifth decade with Pater Aeterne and pray ten Pro Dolorosas.

Step 9: After fifth decade, conclude with Sancte Deus.

Step 10: Pray Oratio Finalis and Signum Crucis to end Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Oratio Incipiens - Opening Prayer

You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.
